The Narcotics Control Bureau is on its toes trying to crackdown the alleged drug nexus in Bollywood. After arresting some high-profile drug peddlers, the Narcotics Control Bureau issued summons to some of the biggest celebrities of Bollywood for interrogation. Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh were grilled by the Narcotics Control Bureau officials for many hours. Now, it has been reported that the NCB Chief has given six months to the team to file a charge sheet.
The Narcotics Control Bureau Chief Rakesh Asthana flew down to Mumbai from Delhi on Sunday. It has been reported that he conducted a late-night meeting with the officials and gave them six months to file a charge sheet. As reported by Republic, he has given a green signal to go for the crackdown of the drug nexus. It has also been reported that Bollywood stars who were summoned and interrogated by the NCB have not been given a clean chit as of yet.
The Narcotics Control Bureau initially stepped in to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. Following the probe, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty were arrested. Later, names of stars like Shraddha, Sara and Rakul Preet emerged. Deepika Padukone's name made it to the headlines after her alleged drug-chats with manager Karishma Prakash, an employee of KWAN talent management company, came to light. Karishma and Jaya Saha, Rhea's manager and KWAN employee, are said to be very good friends.
